Episode 12: DELAYED

Well, for some ungodly reason we decided that using Google+’s “Hangouts” feature would make sense for recording this week’s podcast. Because lower-quality sound and the option of looking at our ready-for-radio faces makes all the sense in the world. At any rate, I’ll post the audio as soon as I get a copy of the raw video file. Episode 11: A Good Day To Campana Hard

It’s probably poor form to sing the “Lollipop Guild” song while discussing Tony Campana (which, the reader should be assured, I did), just as it’s probably poor form to make a joke in this space about Mike taking his mom to see the new Die Hard movie for Valentines day (√† la “Yippie-ki-yay indeed”). But let’s be honest, if I didn’t have poor form, I wouldn’t have any form at all.

In this show!

  • Die Hard With A Bad Script
  • Capanarama
  • We talk baseball for a while
  • P90x
  • No more baseball-less Saturdays for “7 or 8” months. Thanks Len!
  • Something else

Yeah, I know, the bullet points, without the “point” part, is getting to be a tired device. But I’m also a tired device, which makes very little sense indeed. Until next time, fools.

Episode 10: The Mob Lawyer

Out throngs of listeners (or is it one thong-wearing listener? We may never know…) have spoken, and I am no longer editing for length. That is to say, I got real lazy and just uploaded the raw file. Enjoy.

On this week’s show:

  • I have a new job, Andy has a new house, and Mike maintains his preexisting high level of excellence.
  • We find out that Mike once sued the mob and lived to tell about it.
  • We learn that Andy’s wife is the best negotiator since Jim Hendry
  • We briefly talk about the Super Bowl. I think. Maybe.
  • Honestly, I don’t even remember what else we talked about

I was kind of shocked to realize this was our longest show we’ve yet recorded. So, you know, if you’re really into 90 minutes of directionless conversation, have we got a podcast for you!

Episode 9: Kegel Convention

Sorry for the delay, but I’m an incredibly lazy man. We recorded this almost a week ago. Here’s my imperfect recollections of what we talked about:

  • For those of you who took the over on “number of times we’d talk about kegels on the show,” HAVE I GOT GOOD NEWS FOR YOU
  • We spend even more time talking about my parents. I’m beginning to think this is actually an elaborate ruse to finally get me into the family counseling that I so desperately need
  • All you every wanted to know about my wife’s TV watching habits
  • Stephen King
  • The Cubs convention. Or, more accurately, what Andy and Kerm did around/near the Cubs convention. Think of the convention as sex, and Andy and Kerm were two devout Mormons a month before their wedding. They played around the entrance, but never went all the way in

All this and more awaits. This time I didn’t even edit it for length, so you even get all of the uncomfortable silences and canine interruptions you can stand! Remember! YOU ASKED FOR THIS.

Episode 8: Hall of SHAME

It’s a new year, which means a new podcast, which means Mike is still having issues with stroking his microphone like a digital erogenous zone, Andy still spends half the show googling things we talked about ten minutes prior, and I still giggle like a moron at nothing in particular. We’ll eventually get a handle on this. Continue reading

Episode 7: High Fidelity

We’re back, and better than ever! We cover myriad topics this time around, including but not limited to:

  • Bruce Bochy, in intimate detail
  • In a meta move, we spend about 20 minutes talking about the podcast itself
  • P90x. We get to hear just how much Mike sweats.
  • The Tiger’s Stadium, and its various names
  • My badass grandfather
  • We recite Dolan’s Twitter feed in its entirety
  • Kyuji Fujikawa; also, setting both international and race relations back at least a couple decades
  • Way too much time on Jim Deshaies
  • Movie news, video games, and, of course, the ever-popular Andy’s Terrible Netflix Pic Of The Week, which, this week, was the surprisingly solid¬†Goon

So hold onto your butts, folks, this is a Unix system. I got this.

Episode 6: Casual Recordings

Surprise! It’s a Thanksgivingsmas miracle! I decided to record the pre-show BS session, and about halfway through that decided that I had, that whole time, been recording the actual show. Also, this show is formless, unedited due to holiday-related time constraints, and a little long. You get what you pay for. Including this writeup, which is ending right…about…now.

Episode 5: Blame It On The Rain

Never let it be said that we don’t sacrifice for our craft. We battled technological issues, Dolan’s early bedtime, and an innate lack of talent to bring you this week’s episode. Programming note: there was an “Extra Innings” segment (alternate title: “Andy’s Crappy Netflix Recommendations”) taped, but the sub-par software I use to record the show decided that while it would save the recording to a file, it would be a zero-byte file. So that’s handy.

But! What show does exist is still worth a listen! And I know! Because I had to listen to the entire thing to edit out all the network-lag-induced sections of dead air. Sacrifices, people. We make them.
